Dr. Warren Mackey is the incumbent Hamilton County Commissioner in District 4.

District 4 is unique in its geography and demographics, stretching from the peninsula at Harrison Bay, passing the Booker T. Washington State Park, down along the Tennessee River, encompassing much of the southwest shoreline, including the world-class downtown riverfront and Downtown Chattanooga, then extending still farther southward through the communities of Clifton Hills and Alton Park before ending at the Georgia state line.

Dr. Mackey was born and raised in Chattanooga and currently is a Professor of History at Chattanooga State Community College. He has a keen ability to look at our community and see solutions, and he works toward those solutions regardless of partly line. While a Democrat, Dr. Mackey often crosses "party lines" and votes the will of his constituency. Based on his record of votes in the Hamilton County Commission, Mackey is considered by many to be a "centrist" ... socially liberal, but fiscally conservative.
